Water for people, wildlife and livestock

The right to safe and clean drinking water and sanitation remains out of reach for too many people in rural Tanzania. At OEA, we count water security as a fundamental human rights issue and the foundational first step to engaging in sustainable natural resource management and development.

OEA is committed to designing and implementing initiatives together with rural communities to promote and preserve fair and equal distribution of ecosystem services. OEA water programs include both infrastructural work, such as borehole construction, as well as support for the preparation and implementation of guidelines for the sustainable use of natural resources in collaboration with ministries, agencies, local authorities, and water users.
