This project, funded by the Municipality of Milan was established in 2008 and lasted 2 years. Oikos East Africa was part of the implementing team together with the Meru District Council, the Meru-Usa River Forest Plantation, WODSTA, Tazama Trust and Maajabu.
The aim of this project was to improve economic opportunities in the agro-food sector, promoting food availability on local markets. Amongst the activities, the project offered practical training activities in the agro-food sector, especially for women, such as building solar driers and building food storage containers, promoting and enhancing the knowledge of food traditions.
